May was filled with so much fun! Our confirmation class completed their year of study with delightful presentations they gave during their banquet Saturday, May 7th and they were each confirmed into the United Methodist Church on Mother’s Day, May8th. Our terrific youth choir ushered them in that morning during a beautiful service. Then at the end of May, our graduating seniors were recognized and honored for their huge accomplishments on Graduation Sunday and all the while we have been busy preparing for VBS, our fun trip to Warren Willis in July and Youth Week coming the first week of August! All of these students made me (and their church family at large) so very proud! Sometimes the Lord blesses us so completely even as we are in the midst of trying to be a blessing to others!
We are gearing up for a crazy fun summer in the Underground. Youth Intern, Jacob Clark and I are working to make this our best summer yet! Here’s a little of what the youth will be up to this summer:
June-July Dates:
•June 5:VBS training/set-up and hosting our youth friends from Lakewood UMC in Jacksonville
•June 6-11: VBS
•June 26: Summer Sunday Night at the Drake’s house! (Sign up for your OWN Summer Sunday Night here: Summer Sun Night Sign-Up)
•July 11-16: Camp at Warren Willis (get registered for week #4)!!!
•Aug 1-6: YOUTH WEEK!!!
